Medical education and specialist training

Dr Kritiotis graduated from the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens in 2005. He continued his specialist training in the United Kingdom, including Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham, and gained experience in specialist centres and NHS roles in Birmingham, Cornwall, Manchester and Sunderland.

He obtained the European Diploma in Hand Surgery in 2014. His professional work includes reconstructive surgery for impaired upper-limb function, including problems associated with spinal cord injury and spasticity.

Approach to treatment

Assessment considers both the diagnosis and what matters in your daily life: comfort, independence, work and the activities you want to regain. Treatment planning includes a discussion of reasonable alternatives, expected limitations and rehabilitation.

Dr Kritiotis founded Tetrahand Cyprus to bring together assessment, reconstruction and rehabilitation for people with impaired upper-limb function. He is a cofounder of the Cypriot Society for Surgery of the Hand.

Teaching and the team

His teaching activities include international courses and sessions on WALANT surgery, spasticity and tetraplegia reconstruction. The website documents these activities with event photographs and descriptions.
